How To Plan A Car Hire USA Road Trip

Hi all,

Ever fancied doing a road trip in the U.S.? Yeah me too… here is usrentacar.co.uk ’s guide to planning the perfect car hire USA road trip.

Plan ahead. This is a road trip, and will involve some cost. However, you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you like, depending on accommodations, food, etc. Research the locations you are going to ahead of time you will be glad you did.
Hire an appropriate vehicle you’re going to be spending a lot of time in this vehicle so make sure you pick something comfy and that can carry all your luggage.
One Way Rental Costs remember to budget for the additional cost of picking up a vehicle in one location and dropping at another, Orlando to San Francisco for instance could add another $500 to your hire costs.
Make a list of about 10-15 places you want to visit. It’s easier if you make the list so that you stop in places that connect. You will also get a keen feeling if you are being over ambitious or not, the USA is a big place and travelling does take up time.
Decide exactly where you’re going to be and also how long you’re going to stay there. (i.e. Orlando, Florida 3days)
Make sure you and your travel companions can all get time off – it sometimes helps to book a few extra days off at the end to recover, travelling is tiring.

My Orlando Balloon Ride Pictures

Hi all,

It was nearly 5am when we set off to be Richard Branson for a couple of hours. I was really tired, a bit cold and wondering if this was the stupidest thing I’d ever done.

We drove away from International drive for about 30 mins in a large 8 seater minivan. The driver informed us that the launch site was an old hippy camp and the owner loved hot air balloons and let them launch from there for free.

We got stuck in straight away and started to help put up the balloon, part of the experience was getting your hands dirt and mucking in.

There were 2 other balloons due to fly that morning and I think due to my help we were the last to actually set up!!

The heat from the burner was incredible and I’m pretty sure I lost an eyebrow.

We set off a little after 8am, slightly later than usual.

Not a view for someone who is scared of heights. The feeling of being very high up in a balloon is something I would highly recommend.

The views were breath taking.

Our landing on the other hand was something to be desired, we “crash landed” in an orange tree field and had to wait to be rescued, while holding down a very heavy hot air balloon!

Alamo Issue Availability Warning For Florida

Hi guys,

Just a quick heads up, just received a call about Alamo Rent A Car warning us that 7 Seaters, 8 Seaters and 15str Minivans for July and August are close to going on stop sale.

Stop sale is car hire terminology that basically mean’s the supplier has rented out all of those specific vehicles.

Reasons for the stop sale can only be speculated about perhaps the popularity of Harry Potter at Universal is one reason.

On a plus note at present Budget Rent A Car and Dollar Rent A Car have stated that their fleet utilisation is running to plan and they have no intention of issuing stop sales.
