Miami International Airport’s Mover Goes Live

Hi all,

Back on the 9th August I posted regarding Miami International Airports plans to speed up your Florida Car Hire by introducing a “Mover”.

Well the “Mover” is now up and running and has been since the 09/09/11. One of the idea’s behind the Mover was to cut the amount of shuttle bus runs being made, an estimated 1400 runs were being made per day! The mover in contrast can deliver 3000 passengers per hour which has helped Miami International Airport decrease its carbon emission’s by 30%.

The Miami Mover has a top speed of 40 mph and can be found by taking the lifts to Miami International’s  third level moving walkway, which connects you to the Miami Mover.

Have you used the Miami Mover yet, what did you think?

Miami Car Hire To Get Quicker

Hi all,

Back in July 2010 I posted about Miami International Airport opening a new Car Rental facility. The 4 level facility which cost $480 million to build and houses 16 car rental firms received positive praise from our customers.

Mr Neil Maitland commented

Nice new rental car building at Miami Airport made collection and drop off very straight forward

Mr Philip Carson added

Miami airport is a pleasure to hire a car from now. You catch any shuttle bus and they take you to a new building that all the car suppliers are there I was in and out within 15 minutes

Mr Andrew Johnson wrote

The new rental centre at Miami Airport was excellent. When the rail link to it is complete it will be even better.

At present customers get to the facility via shuttle bus regardless of supplier chosen however shortly this will be replaced by an electric-powered MIA Mover, which can transport 3,000 passengers per hour and will reduce fuel emissions at MIA by 15%.

The MIA Mover, a 1.25-mile-long, elevated people mover system, is scheduled to begin connecting passengers from MIA to the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) on September 9 2011.

What’s your opinion of Miami’s Car Rental Facility?

Miami Car Hire Reviews Who Is Best At MIA?

Hi all,

Dollar Rent A Car took first place at Orlando International Airport and we had a three way tie at Sanford Airport!

So today I thought I’d take a look at who is best for Miami Car Hire. As always the scores are based on the reviews given by you, our customers.

The scoring is collected after the hire is completed and covers everything from ease of pick up to vehicle quality.

So here are the results

  1. Dollar Rent A Car – 85%
  2. Budget Rent A Car - 83%
  3. Alamo Rent A Car – 82%

So another victory for Dollar Rent A Car…

Does this result tally with your own experience of our suppliers?

What can car rental companies do to improve for 2011?
