This week in Car Hire

Hi all,

Its been very busy here at usrentacar, I’ve been stuck in meetings with suppliers all week trying to thrash out rates for 2010. First thoughts indicate that there will be further price rises however the strength of the Dollar and supplier q3 results will ultimately decide this. So please accept my apologies for those of you who have left comments but haven’t had them approved yet, I will get round to reading them all.

On a different note our start up company www.compareattractiontickets.com has had a strong launch, we’ve been getting good traffic to it and negotiations with further suppliers are going well.

We have redesigned the homepage to give it a more funky and fresh look, further amendments and tweeks will happen but I’m very happy with the initial alterations.

Travelmole Awards

Firstly, we didn’t win the Travel Mole best car hire award this year. :-( It’s a shame as I really believed that looking at the sites we were up against we had a real chance however congratulations to all the winners.

We are now keeping our fingers crossed that we win the Travolution award for best car hire website.

Compare Attraction Tickets

Last week we launched the beta version of?Compare Attraction Tickets . Thanks to all those who tried the site and sent us feedback, all your comments are welcome and much appreciated.

Please continue to use the site and send me your comments, its really helpful.

Vehicle Availability

As I blogged about back in Feb this year (click here) there is a real shortage of vehicles to rent in the U.S.

The reason for this is partly that the car manufacturers haven’t produced the same amount of vehicles for the rental market as in previous years due mainly to the recession, the problem is that customers requesting ?vehicle’s has stayed at the same level and so the classic supply and demand problem starts.

I would continue to advise customers to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Rental Agreements

I have previously blogged about this subject (click here). It is imperative that you fully read your rental agreement and understand them before you sign.

The rental agreement is a legally binding contract between you and the supplier. ?Our customer care team can do very little if extras are purchased locally are countered signed and initialed by yourselves.

I appreciate you maybe tired from the long flight however please take a moment to fully read and address any concerns you have locally.

Cheap Attraction Tickets

Here at Rent A Car labs we’ve been busy behind the scene’s preparing our latest venture, www.compareattractiontickets.com

As the name suggests Compare Attraction Tickets (CAT) is a comparison site for theme park tickets, excursions and theatre tickets. We have teamed up with some of the biggest companies in the UK including Isango, Do Something Different, Asda, Viagogo and buyagift to name but a few, to offer the UK’s largest attractions comparison site.

Compare Attraction TicketsNow the site isn’t quite ready to go “public” but as a treat to our loyal readers we have put up a fully working BETA version, so feel free to log on and explore the site, you can email quotes and make bookings until your heart’s content.

We are hoping that the site will help customers find the best deal in a market that can be quite confusing.

Compare Attraction Tickets will soon have its own dedicated blog which will hopefully guide customers towards some of the outstanding deals we have in place. Also if demand is there we will look to open a ticket forum where customers can trade idea’s and generally help each other out.
