How Our Car Hire Deposit Scheme Works

Hi all,

Had a few calls this week from customers asking how our deposit scheme works, so I thought I’d write up a quick guide.

If your pick up date is more than 8 weeks away our website via a tick box at the payment stage and call centre staff will give you the option to secure your vehicle category and price with a £50 .00 deposit (or equivalent in your currency).

All balances are taken on a Friday regardless off the exact 8 week date, so for instance if your balance was due on a Monday our accounts department would actually take the payment on the Friday, unless you specific contact us to ask the balance to be taken early.

A week before your balance is due you will receive an email from us stating that the balance is due, confirming when the balance will be taken and giving you advise on what to do if you want to alter your payment details. usrentacar.co.uk makes every effort to insure our reminder emails reach you but cannot be held responsible for third part mail servers.

If you wish to alter your payment details then please contact us before the balance date, if you do not need to alter your details then do nothing; and our system will automatically take payment using the card details used at the time of booking.

Attraction Tickets purchased at the same time as the car hire can be included in the £50 deposit scheme.

So in summary

  • Tick box to pay only a £50.00 deposit, balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.
  • 1 week before balance is due you will receive an email reminder from us.
  • If you wish to alter your payment details please contact us before the balance date, if you don’t need to then do nothing.
  • Collect your voucher once balance is paid.
