Today Alamo have agreed to remove their peak season surcharge for all new bookings collecting in July and August 2012 for a limited time.

The removal of the peak season surcharge will reduce usrentacar.co.uk Alamo peak prices by around £25 per week.

Although a little slower than Dollar and Budget, Alamo have today revealed some early bird rates for Florida (other locations to follow).

usrentacar.co.uk customers can secure these 2012 rates at 2011 pricing for just £50.00 with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure

Hi all,

Just received the news that Alamo Rent A Car will, for the first time in years be issuing a peak season surcharge on certain vehicles in Florida and the rest of the USA.

Following on from price increases from Budget and Dollar, Alamo, who have the largest fleet of all our suppliers, are now also feeling the knock on effects of the Japanese Tsunami.

The price increase effects vehicles for collection on or within the following date range 01/07/11 until 21/08/11 these increases come in to effect on the 10th June 2011.

The vehicles effected are -

Intermediate SUV

Standard SUV

Full Size SUV

Convertible

7 seater Minivan

8 Seater Minivan

15 Seater Minivan

Other vehicle types should remain unchanged.

The prices increase ranges from between £16 – £32 per week and will effect all companies selling the Alamo product.

If you have already booked your vehicle with usrentacar.co.uk before the 10/06/2011 then your price will not be effected by these surcharges.

Due to the lack of fleet with all suppliers usrentacar.co.uk urges all customers to book their rentals as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Hi all,

Alamo Rent A Car has announced for the first time in 10 years, that the Enterprise owned car rental supplier will service a New York city area airport.

The new location is situated at 162 US Highway 1&9 in Newark, New Jersey and will run a regular shuttle bus service situated near the baggage claim area at Newark International Airport.

Jason Altman, vice president of airports for Alamo Rent A Car in New York and New Jersey said

“We are pleased to be offering Alamo’s low rental rates and convenient services to travelers arriving in the New Jersey and New York City areas from all over the world,”

As some of you may probably know already Alamo Rent A Car has finally completed its scheduled move to become on airport at Tampa International, thus eliminating the need for the pesky shuttle bus.

Alamo’s new airport location can be located via the main terminal and includes an extended collection desk and secure airport parking.

“Alamo Rent A Car’s new airport facility provides quick and convenient rental car services to our customers in Tampa,” said John Eckermann, Tampa vice president and general manager for Enterprise Holdings. “One of our goals is to make travel simpler for U.S. and international travelers, and customer feedback tells us the on-site airport facilities are extremely easy to locate and navigate.”

So I thought I’d give you an idea of what our customers have recently been collecting.

Just a quick heads up, just received a call about Alamo Rent A Car warning us that 7 Seaters, 8 Seaters and 15str Minivans for July and August are close to going on stop sale.

Stop sale is car hire terminology that basically mean’s the supplier has rented out all of those specific vehicles.

Reasons for the stop sale can only be speculated about perhaps the  popularity of Harry Potter at Universal is one reason.

On a plus note at present Budget Rent A Car and Dollar Rent A Car have stated that their fleet utilisation is running to plan and they have no intention of issuing stop sales.
