Alamo Rent A Car Reviews

Hi all,

I thought it was about time I shared some more user reviews for our suppliers, starting with Alamo Rent A Car.

When you rent a vehicle with usrentacar.co.uk you will notice that part of the results page shows you customer reviews, these reviews are vehicle, location and supplier specific; so for example if you clicked on the Alamo Rent A Car reviews for Orlando International Airport on an Intermediate SUV, all the reviews displayed would be specific to customers who have order this exact sequence.

We gather the reviews using two methods. Firstly customer’s who have downloaded either our  iPhone or our Android voucher app have the  option to review their hire immediately upon collection of their rental car via the review button.

Secondly, upon return of the vehicle, usrentacar.co.uk emails all its customers to ask how their rental went, this is the customers opportunity to review the car hire service. (please note these reviews do not go to our customer services team, any customer complaints should be directed as per our contact page).

Alamo”s collection process was quick and simple. Even though we had to go and exchange the car due to a technical fault, this proved to be no real hassle and the Dodge Grand Caravan we had for the majority of the holiday was a pleasure to drive. It easily fitted four good-sized suitcases in the boot with two sports bags on top. We loved the degree of automation in the cars, with the electric rear doors and boot. Great service from USrentacar. We”ll definitely be return customers.

A far better experience with Alamo than I had with budget last year – the staff were friendly and went the extra mile to get us a Mustang as opposed to the other convertibles on offer.

The Suburban supplied to us was brand new and was perfect for our 4000 mile tour of the west. The staff at SFO were, as usual, accommodating and friendly. However, the same cannot be said for the lady who we dealt with at the return office at LAX. When I queried a $20 dollar chrge for fuel (I had bought the Gold package), she told me that Alamo “don”t do a free full tank.” To cut a long story short, she eventually refunded the money but in bad grace. Not welcome in customer relations. This was, however, the only negative in an otherwise good experience with Alamo and US Renta car.

Booked a compact car, got a much bigger one, which we didn”t want and didn”t need, so greater fuel cost, and not so easy to park. Alamo hire rates are cheaper than the biggies, but their fuel policy is a total rip off. They charge a full tank and you are supposed to bring it back empty, but how can you possible judge when the tank is empty without actually running out of fuel a few km short? So everyone brings them back at least five litres of fuel. RIP OFF!

Sloooow queue to get vehicle after a long flight and two hours getting through immigration is not welcome. No excuse that airport was busy as other rental desks all had only one or two people waiting. Excellent immaculate vehicle, good rates and good quick drop off at return but will think twice before using again.
