Stabbing suspect, wrestler put image of wound on Facebook | Breaking Tampa Bay, Florida and national news and weather from Tampa Bay Online and The Tampa Tribune

TAMPA – Half an hour after the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office learned of a stabbing at an apartment complex, the man who later would be arrested in the crime updated his Facebook page.

He posted a new image of a bloody arm wound.

Family and friends jumped on the page and in frantic messages urged the man, former professional wrestler Brian McGhee, to call them, keep his cool and do the right thing.

McGhee, 29, was arrested early Thursday morning and has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend, Bianca McGaughey, 25.

Deputies found McGaughey shortly after a 911 call at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, lying on a sidewalk in the apartment complex at 8451 Del Lago Circle. She had been stabbed repeatedly in the torso and neck. She died at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives learned McGhee parked in the complex, then attacked her as she walked toward him, the sheriff's office said. McGhee and McGaughey had previously dated, but had stopped seeing each other a year ago. McGhee kept in contact with the victim, the sheriff's office said.

After the stabbing, McGhee drove off in a 2008 silver Pontiac Grand Prix. He was spotted around midnight heading north on Interstate 275.

When he entered Pasco County, deputies dropped spike strips on the roadway. McGhee exited the interstate and crashed into a guardrail. He was arrested shortly after, the sheriff's office said.

McGhee was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa for treatment of injuries he received in the crash and from the police dog that helped apprehend him. McGhee was booked into the Land O'Lakes Detention Center and released late Thursday for transport to Hillsborough County.

McGhee wrestled under the names Donovan Ruddick and D.T. Porter. He also used the nickname "The Future." He started his wrestling career in 2006, according to a pro wrestling website.

In 2009, Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked McGhee 476 out of 500 best single wrestlers. At one time, he was signed by the World Wrestling Entertainment, but in 2012 his contract Seattle Seahawks jerseys with WWE ended, according to his Facebook page.

McGhee was in the U.S. Navy from 2002 to 2004, according to his Facebook page.

On an Internet wrestling site, a short biography on McGhee, which identifies him as D.T. Porter, says he was born in St. Louis. The biography describes him as a person who had a tough life and for whom nothing came easy. It says he was bullied in his youth for not having what the other children had.

But he broke out in high school by excelling in high school sports, according to the website biography. He joined the Navy, gaining more confidence.

After the Navy, he entered the world of wrestling.

As of Thursday night, the fans, acquaintances and others he counted as friends on Facebook numbered 1,687.
